Shark Cage Diving Tour Description:
Your Shark Cage Diving tour starts with us heading along the N2 national road that crosses the Hottentots-Holland mountain range. Sit back and relax as we have a 2hr drive to reach our destination of Gansbaai. Special attention should be paid when we start the 420m climb up Sir Lowry’s Pass as you will see on your right hand side majestic views that span as far as the eye can see. Sights of Gordon’s Bay, False Bay and on a clear day you can see across the whole peninsula to the Atlantic Ocean.
On arrival of the Shark Cage Diving operator, you will be served breakfast, followed by an informative and vital briefing on all the aspects of the adventure you are about to embark on. Once onboard and launched you can expect a 3hr round trip, where you will get to experience watching the Ultimate sea predator from the comfort of the boat, as well as being given the opportunity to see these beautiful creatures from the safety of a purpose built cage. It is not compulsory to get in the cage if you prefer watching from the boat.
Your Shark Cage Diving tour then heads along one of the most famous scenic routes in the Western Cape, traveling along the Overberg south coastal route to Hermanus, Betty’s bay, Pringle Bay and Gordon’s Bay. Hermanus, is our next stop and with its unparalleled scenic beauty, modern infrastructure, up-market shops and endless adventure options, it’s little wonder that Hermanus has grown in size and popularity during the last decade.
Visitors from near and far flock to the town to enjoy its many charms while local residents and homeowners savour the privilege of living in this unique region. You will have the opportunity to have lunch (own account) wander the arts and craft malls and even do some more land-based whale watching.
Your next Shark Cage Diving tour stop finds us nestled between the sea and the mountain side, where streams and reflection pools feed ”The soul’, the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden in the heart of the Cape’s richest fynbos region (1600 different plant species), is home to a spectacular variety of sugar bushes (Proteas), heats (Ericas), conebushes (Leucadendrons), and cape reeds (Restios).
This peaceful garden incorporates the four important vegetation types found in the Overberg and the most interesting messages are conveyed to the public about the amazing plant and animal life by means of informative storyboards.
Your Shark Cage tour now takes its final step back to Cape Town. This time we pass underneath the magnificent Sir Lowry’s Pass which can now be seen on your right hand side, while on the left hand side are sheer drops to rocks that fall away into the warm Indian Ocean.
Your Shark Cage Diving tour is then complete!
