Wine and Cheese Tasting Tour Description:

Your wine and cheese tasting tour starts with a visit at Zewenwacht Wines Estate, situated on the Stellenbosch Wine Route. Traditional style farmhouse cheddar is produced on the farm from “Friesland” milk. You’ll be served a selection of four cheeses along with their wines. The wines of Zevenwacht are distinguished by their classic style and finely crafted elegance.

Your second wine and cheese tasting tour destination takes us to the heart of Stellenbosch, which is without doubt one of the prettiest and quaintest little towns in the whole of South Africa.  The area is full of charming scenes and rich in history.  The towns, villages and farmlands contain finely preserved examples of one of the most serene forms of domestic architecture found anywhere in the world – The Cape-Dutch style.  You’ll have time to wander around some of the fine arts and crafts shops and given the opportunity to visit The Village Museum (own account).

Your wine and cheese tasting tour then heads into the wine district of Franschhoek, and your next destination, La Motte (Not open on Sundays).  La Motte has won many prestigious awards over the years for their fine wines, and their tasting centre has been praised for the inviting ambiance it creates for wine lovers.

We then travel through towering mountains into the beautiful Cape Winelands of the magnificent Franschhoek Valley.  Franschhoek is the food and wine heartland of the country. Here you will find breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world class cuisine and the finest wines all combine to create lasting memories.  You will be given the opportunity to have lunch in Franschhoek (Own account).

Your wine and cheese tasting tour then continues to Fairview Wine Estate.  The farm is the only farm to offer goats cheese.  Fairview’s most famous landmark is undoubtedly their Goat Tower.  The select few who call it home, proudly represent their herd of over 750 goats, which are an important part of daily life on the farm.  Their hosts will guide you through a relaxed wine and cheese tasting of the products made on the farm.

Your final stop for the day takes you to the famous Taal Monument or Afrikaans Language Monument, erected in 1975 situated at the top of Paarl rock.  This monument commemorate the semi centenary of Afrikaans as an official language.

Your wine and cheese tasting tour is then complete!
